STUDENT PLACEMENT GUIDELINES
At TRIN International School, student placement is determined carefully to ensure each student is placed in the most suitable learning environment for academic, social and emotional success.
Placement decisions are guided by:
1. Date of Birth
Placement follows our annual age reference cut-off date of 31 August.
2. Current School & Current Year Group
We consider the student’s current educational setting and progression to support a smooth transition.
3. Entrance Assessment
Assessments help us understand the student’s current abilities, learning readiness and support needs.
We also take time to understand each family’s goals and expectations so that placement reflects both the child’s profile and long-term educational journey.
Academic Checkpoints
Our school supports students towards the following milestones:
Year 6 – Cambridge Primary Checkpoint (English, Mathematics & Science)
Years 9 - 11 – Cambridge IGCSE
Sixth Form – Cambridge International A Levels
Thoughtful placement helps ensure students are appropriately challenged, well supported, and positioned to achieve success at each checkpoint.
